Description
SS bag filter housing Oman: the SATEPA Bag Filter Housing from SATEPA Srl, Italy, is built for removing suspended particles from industrial water, chemicals, polymers, food and beverages. The AISI 304 stainless steel housing (AISI 316 optional) takes a size 2 filter bag in a drilled basket and handles up to 40 m³/h (176 GPM) at 7 bar.
SATEPA has designed UV electronics since 2007 and manufactures UV sterilizers from 0 to 600 m³/h in Bologna, Italy, using its own ballasts and controllers. UV Water Systems supplies, installs and services SATEPA equipment across the Sultanate.
How the SATEPA Bag Filter Housing Works
Water enters the housing, passes from the outside to the inside of the filter elements and leaves through the central outlet. Suspended solids, sand, rust and other particles stay trapped in the media. As the element loads, differential pressure rises; when it reaches about 1 bar above the clean value, the element is changed through the quick-open lid without removing the housing from the line.

Custom systems are available on request. Flow rates are given by SATEPA at the stated UV dose; we size each unit to your actual water quality.
Applications in Oman
- Industrial process and cooling water
- Chemical and polymer dosing lines
- Food and beverage production
- Pre-filtration before cartridge filters to extend cartridge life
Choosing the Right Model
Model selection depends on peak flow rate, the amount of suspended solids, the micron rating you need and the operating pressure. In Oman, well and tanker water often carries sand, silt and rust, so a coarser first stage protects finer filters and RO membranes downstream. Send us your flow rate and application and our engineers will recommend the housing size and filter media. Learn more about water filtration.
Installation and Maintenance
- Install after pre-filtration, with a bypass line and isolation valves for service
- Replace UV lamps every 9,000 hours (14,000 hours for amalgam), about once a year in continuous use
- Clean the quartz sleeve every 3 to 6 months, more often with hard water
- Keep the controller and ballast in a dry, ventilated place

Frequently Asked Questions
Bag filter or cartridge filter: which is better?
Bag filters hold more dirt and cost less per change on high solids water. Cartridge filters give finer, more consistent filtration. Many plants use a bag filter first, then cartridges.
Is SATEPA equipment made in Italy?
Yes. SATEPA Srl manufactures its UV sterilizers, ballasts and controllers in San Giovanni in Persiceto, Bologna, Italy.
