UV Water Systems designs, supplies, installs and services a hydroponics RO plant in Oman for greenhouses, nurseries and farms: well water analysis, pre-filtration and iron removal, reverse osmosis sized to daily demand, blending to your target EC, acid dosing for alkalinity and UV disinfection on the recirculation line.

Hydroponics RO plant in Oman treating brackish well water for a farm

What a hydroponics RO plant in Oman includes

  • Full irrigation water analysis: EC, hardness, sodium, chloride, sulphate, bicarbonate, iron, manganese and boron
  • Multimedia or sand filtration and 5 micron cartridge pre-filtration
  • Iron and manganese oxidation and filtration where the analysis requires it
  • Reverse osmosis with Dupont Filmtec membranes and Grundfos pumps, sized on peak daily demand
  • Blending line and control so you keep calcium and magnesium instead of buying them back as fertiliser
  • Antiscalant and acid dosing on Emec metering pumps with pH control
  • UV disinfection on the return line, dosed for horticulture
  • Permeate and buffer tanks, so the plant runs steadily instead of cycling
  • Reject water routing to salt-tolerant crops, date palms or wash use rather than drain

Plant sizes and packages

Four configurations cover most projects. Prices on application after a water analysis, because membrane count and pre-treatment depend entirely on the feed quality.

HYD-1 — 500 LPH

Single or small greenhouse, nursery or trial block. Pre-filtration, RO, blending valve and a permeate tank.

HYD-2 — 1,000 LPH

Two to four greenhouse blocks. Adds automatic backwash on the media filter and acid dosing with pH control.

HYD-3 — 2,000 LPH

Commercial farm. Adds iron removal where required, duplex pre-filtration and UV on the recirculation line.

HYD-4 — 5,000 LPH and above

Large protected cropping or multi-site project, skid mounted with a control panel, instrumentation and remote monitoring. Every hydroponics RO plant in Oman at this size is engineered from the analysis upward rather than picked from a catalogue.

Why a hydroponics RO plant in Oman lives or dies on blending

Omani well water usually tests between 1.5 and 4 mS/cm, with high sodium, chloride and bicarbonate. Running a greenhouse on pure RO permeate is wasteful: you strip out the calcium and magnesium, then buy them back as fertiliser. The practical design blends RO permeate with filtered well water at a ratio that puts final EC and sodium under your limit. On a well at 2.4 mS/cm, roughly 70 percent RO to 30 percent filtered water is usually enough, which cuts both the plant size you need and the running cost.

The seven steps behind the design, and the limits we hold for sodium, chloride, bicarbonate, iron and boron, are set out in our guide to hydroponics water treatment in Oman, and in Arabic at معالجة مياه الزراعة المائية في عمان. The FAO guidance on irrigation water quality sets the baseline figures.

Who we work for

We build a hydroponics RO plant in Oman for growers whose margin depends on water quality every single day.

Commercial greenhouse operators, nurseries, government and institutional farm projects, agricultural investment companies and research facilities. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified and registered with the Oman Tender Board, and we supply across Muscat, Batinah, Dakhiliyah and Dhofar.

How to start

Send a full irrigation water analysis with your crop type, greenhouse area and daily water demand. If you do not have an analysis we will take the samples and interpret them. You get a sizing proposal with the plant, the pre-treatment, the dosing and the service contract priced separately, so a hydroponics RO plant in Oman is a capital figure you can read line by line.

Frequently asked questions

What capacity do I need for my greenhouse?

Size it on litres per day at peak summer demand, not on greenhouse area alone, then add the blending ratio and a buffer tank. Send the area, crop and water analysis and the sizing is straightforward.

Can I run hydroponics on raw well water instead?

Rarely. A well under 1.0 mS/cm with low sodium and low bicarbonate can work with filtration and acid dosing alone. Most Omani wells test well above that, and the salts concentrate in a recirculating system until growth suffers.

How often are membranes replaced?

Three to five years with correct pre-filtration, antiscalant dosing and cleaning. On iron-bearing well water without proper pre-treatment, within a year, which is why iron removal is part of every hydroponics RO plant in Oman we build.

Do you service plants supplied by others?

Yes. We take over existing units on an AMC, starting with a water analysis and a membrane condition check so you know what you are inheriting before we quote.
