Service packages

We price a legionella control service in Oman as a one-off assessment plus a recurring programme, so you can see what is survey work and what is ongoing.

Four packages cover most buildings. Prices on application after a walk-through, since scope depends on the number of tanks, calorifiers, risers and outlets.

LEG-1 — Risk assessment and control scheme

Site survey, schematic, temperature readings at sentinel outlets, and a written control scheme with action limits and a named responsible person. One-off, and the starting point for every other package.

LEG-2 — Tank cleaning and disinfection

Drain, clean and chlorine disinfect ground and roof tanks, with before and after bacteriological results. Twice a year is our standard recommendation for Omani conditions.

LEG-3 — Sampling and monitoring programme

Scheduled temperature logging and laboratory sampling at an agreed frequency, with dated reports and a trend summary. Suits a building that already has its scheme written.

LEG-4 — Full annual contract

Everything above on a schedule: twice-yearly tank cleaning, quarterly or monthly sampling, temperature audits, shower head servicing and an annual review of the written scheme. This is how most hotels and hospitals run a legionella control service in Oman long term.

Why Omani buildings need this

Legionella multiplies between 20 C and 45 C. In Europe, cold water lines stay naturally below 20 C most of the year, so half the risk manages itself. Here it is the opposite: we regularly log cold water leaving a roof tank at 38 C to 42 C in July, which is incubator temperature. Add stagnation in low-occupancy rooms and scale or biofilm from hard supply water, and all three conditions the bacteria needs are present.

The seven checks we run on every site, and what each one costs you if skipped, are set out in our guide to legionella control in Oman, and in Arabic at مكافحة بكتيريا الليجيونيلا في عمان. The World Health Organization guidance on Legionella and the prevention of legionellosis is the reference most brand standards are built on.

Who we work for

Our legionella control service in Oman runs on buildings where a failed audit or an outbreak is not survivable commercially.

Hotels operating to international brand standards, hospitals and clinics, schools, labour accommodation and camps, oil and gas contractors with HSE requirements, and facilities management companies managing buildings on behalf of owners. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified and registered with the Oman Tender Board and JSRS.

How to start

Ask for a walk-through. We look at your tanks, calorifiers, risers and a sample of outlets, take temperature readings on the spot, and come back with a scope and a price. Most buildings start a legionella control service in Oman after a brand audit flags a missing written scheme. If you already have a risk assessment from another provider, send it and we will quote against it rather than repeating work you have paid for.

Frequently asked questions

Is legionella testing mandatory in Oman?

There is no single standalone Omani legionella regulation covering every building type. Healthcare facilities, hotels on international brand standards and many oil and gas contractors impose it through their own HSE requirements and contracts, and Oman Standards for drinking water quality apply to the supply itself.

How often should tanks be cleaned?

Twice a year for most buildings here, and more often where the tank sits in direct sun or the building has low occupancy. A legionella control service in Oman that cleans annually is working to a European interval in an Omani climate.

Will a UV steriliser solve it on its own?

No. UV disinfects water as it passes the lamp and leaves no residual, so anything growing downstream in the tank, pipework or shower head is untouched. It is a useful layer on an incoming line or a recirculating loop, never the whole answer.

How long does a sample result take?

Legionella culture takes up to ten days in the laboratory, which is the standard method and cannot be shortened. Temperature and chlorine readings are immediate, which is why the monitoring log matters more than any single sample.
