Instead of dozens of small 2.5″ cartridges, each housing uses one large-diameter high flow cartridge with much more filter area. Housings mount horizontally in a stacked rack, so the system needs far less floor space than vertical multi-cartridge housings. Changing a 150 GPM cartridge takes about 5 minutes against about 30 minutes with standard housings, and one element can be replaced while the rest of the system keeps running.
