The BIO-UV LPE00005 lamp is the genuine 87W amalgam replacement tube for the larger BIO-UV France disinfection reactors, and UV Water Systems supplies it in Oman. It is the higher-output partner to the 55W LPE00004, fitted where flow rate or required dose puts the smaller lamp out of range.
Amalgam construction is what lets an 87W tube hold its rated 254 nm output through the summer. Standard low-pressure mercury lamps lose output sharply when the water either side of the quartz sleeve moves away from their optimum temperature, and Omani feed water spends most of the year outside that window. Amalgam lamps run flat across a much wider band, which is why BIO-UV specifies them on validated reactors.
