The 3M ScaleGard SGLP reverse osmosis systems produce consistent, low-mineral water for combi ovens and steamers, cutting the scale and corrosion that shorten the life of commercial cooking equipment in Oman. Activated carbon pre-treatment protects the membrane from chlorine, chloramines and sediment, while the membrane strips out the hardness that bakes onto boiler elements and steam generators.

Oman’s mains supply blends desalinated and groundwater sources, and hardness varies sharply between areas of Muscat and the interior. In a busy kitchen that means descaling call-outs, streaked steam panels and warranty arguments with the oven supplier. A 3M ScaleGard SGLP system in front of the oven removes the problem at source.

Technical specifications

Production rates are quoted at 60 psi and 25 °C producing water at atmosphere. Below 60 psi an external booster pump is required. Full specifications are published by 3M.

3M ScaleGard SGLP replacement cartridges

Replace the pre-filter every 12 months or sooner and the membrane every 24 months or sooner. Missing those intervals reduces performance and risks filter failure and water leakage.

Installation notes

• Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
• If supply pressure exceeds 80 psi, fit a pressure reducing valve ahead of the unit.
• A 1/2″ connection is provided as an optional port for pre-filtered water to the oven cleaning cycle.
• Installation must follow local plumbing regulations. We handle installation and commissioning across Oman.
