The 3M ScaleGard SGLP reverse osmosis systems produce consistent, low-mineral water for combi ovens and steamers, cutting the scale and corrosion that shorten the life of commercial cooking equipment in Oman. Activated carbon pre-treatment protects the membrane from chlorine, chloramines and sediment, while the membrane strips out the hardness that bakes onto boiler elements and steam generators.

3M ScaleGard SGLP reverse osmosis system with HF65-CL prefilter for combi ovens in Oman

Oman’s mains supply blends desalinated and groundwater sources, and hardness varies sharply between areas of Muscat and the interior. In a busy kitchen that means descaling call-outs, streaked steam panels and warranty arguments with the oven supplier. A 3M ScaleGard SGLP system in front of the oven removes the problem at source.

Why the 3M ScaleGard SGLP works in a commercial kitchen

The unit runs entirely on incoming line pressure. There is no socket to find behind the oven and no electrical work to schedule, which is usually what delays a retrofit in a live kitchen. Sanitary Quick Change cartridges mean a change-out takes minutes without draining the line or contaminating the media.

Features and benefits

No power required — the 3M ScaleGard SGLP integrated pump runs on incoming water pressure alone.
Sanitary Quick Change (SQC) cartridges — fast, clean change-outs with no spills and reduced risk of media contamination.
Integrated carbon pre-treatment — reduces sediment, chlorine and chloramine taste and odour ahead of the membrane, extending membrane life.
Thin film composite (TFC) membrane — reliable rejection of scale-forming and corrosion-causing minerals.
Built-in storage tank — buffers demand through peak service so the oven is never waiting for water.
Rust and corrosion resistant steel bracket — wall mountable and compact, designed for tight kitchen installations.
Bypass models available — SGLP100-CL-BP and SGLP200-CL-BP ship with the bypass kit where the oven manufacturer specifies blending.

Production rates are quoted at 60 psi and 25 °C producing water at atmosphere. Below 60 psi an external booster pump is required. Full specifications are published by 3M.

3M ScaleGard SGLP replacement cartridges

Part No.	Model	Type	Qty required
5628902	HF65-CL	5 micron sediment, chloramine, chlorine taste and odour	1
5625004	CFS M	Reverse osmosis membrane	1 (SGLP100-CL) / 2 (SGLP200-CL and BP models)

Replace the pre-filter every 12 months or sooner and the membrane every 24 months or sooner. Missing those intervals reduces performance and risks filter failure and water leakage.

Applications

Combi ovens and steam ovens in hotel, hospital and school kitchens
Central production kitchens and catering units
Quick service and casual dining restaurants
Bakery steam injection ovens

Installation notes

Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
If supply pressure exceeds 80 psi, fit a pressure reducing valve ahead of the unit.
A 1/2″ connection is provided as an optional port for pre-filtered water to the oven cleaning cycle.
Installation must follow local plumbing regulations. We handle installation and commissioning across Oman.
