How the Grooved PP Sediment Filter Works
Water flows from the outside of the cartridge to the core. The grooved outer surface catches large particles, and the denser inner layers catch finer sediment, so the whole depth of the filter is used. That spreads the dirt load and keeps the pressure drop low for longer. Grooved filters are especially useful on Omani tanker and well water, which often carries sand, silt and rust.
