Every ion exchange water softener needs a reliable brine tank. This is the reservoir where salt dissolves in water to form the saturated solution that regenerates the softener resin. The body is UV-stabilised fibreglass reinforced plastic or HDPE. Both materials resist the 25–26% NaCl solution held inside, which corrodes ordinary steel within months in Oman’s humid coastal air. Expect 15 to 20 years of service life with no painting and no protective coating.
Why a Corrosion-Proof Brine Tank Matters in Oman

As a working rule, choose a capacity that holds at least two weeks of salt for a home and one week for a commercial site. A 10-litre residential resin softener suits a 100-litre tank. A 2 m³/hour commercial softener usually needs 200 to 300 litres.
Oversizing costs little and cuts the number of salt top-ups your team has to make. Undersizing causes missed regenerations and hard water breakthrough.
