Description
Veolia Hydrex 4730 Membrane Cleaner is supplied in a 25 kg container for professional membrane-cleaning programmes. The correct cleaner and procedure depend on the foulant, membrane type, plant operating history and current manufacturer guidance.
Veolia Hydrex 4730 Membrane Cleaner in Oman
Fouling can cause higher feed pressure, rising differential pressure, reduced permeate output and changes in salt rejection. A controlled clean-in-place procedure uses compatible chemistry and carefully managed operating conditions to restore performance where possible. UV Water Systems supplies Hydrex 4730 in Oman and provides practical RO cleaning and maintenance support.
Product features
- Veolia Hydrex membrane-cleaning chemical.
- 25 kg pack for commercial and industrial RO maintenance.
- For controlled use in a compatible clean-in-place system.
- Liquid format for accurate preparation and circulation.
- Local chemical supply and RO service support in Muscat.
Typical applications
Hydrex 4730 may be considered for membrane plants serving hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, laundries, commercial kitchens and process-water applications. Engineers should identify the dominant deposit and review membrane limits before choosing any cleaner. Cleaning should be based on operating data and the current technical documentation, not a fixed routine alone.

Cleaning and safety
Read the current product technical data sheet and safety data sheet before use. Confirm membrane compatibility and define concentration, pH, temperature, circulation flow and duration. Trained staff should isolate the RO plant, prepare the solution in suitable equipment, monitor the cleaning process and flush the system before return to service. Wear the specified personal protective equipment and follow local disposal requirements.

Reading the signs of membrane fouling
Every reverse osmosis plant should have a normalised performance record taken from commissioning. Cleaning is triggered when normalised permeate flow falls by 10 to 15 percent, stage differential pressure climbs by about 15 percent, or salt passage rises by 10 percent. Raw readings alone mislead, because feed temperature and pressure changes move permeate flow on their own. Normalising the data separates a genuine fouling trend from seasonal variation.
Matching chemistry to the deposit
Deposits on RO membranes are not all the same. Calcium carbonate and sulphate scale, iron and manganese oxides, organic matter, biofilm and colloidal silt each need their own approach, and the wrong chemistry can fix the deposit in place instead of lifting it. The stage where performance dropped, the feed water analysis and, where available, an element autopsy narrow down the dominant foulant before any chemical is mixed. Where two mechanisms are present a sequential clean is normal.
Clean in place practice
- Flush with permeate or good quality water before chemical is introduced.
- Mix to the concentration and temperature the membrane manufacturer allows, no higher.
- Circulate at low pressure and the recommended flow per vessel so the deposit lifts.
- Soak, recirculate again and watch pH drift as an indicator of progress.
- Rinse to drain until permeate conductivity stabilises before returning to service.
Handling and supply in Oman
Working outside the membrane limits for pH, temperature, flow or contact time can damage elements beyond recovery, so check the current technical data sheet and safety data sheet before every clean. Use chemical resistant CIP tanks, pumps and hoses, keep the container closed in storage, and let trained staff carry out the work with the protective equipment listed in the safety data sheet. UV Water Systems supplies Veolia Hydrex 4730 Membrane Cleaner together with CIP skids, membrane replacement and RO plant servicing across Muscat, Sohar, Salalah, Duqm and Nizwa.
