Seawater Desalination System (SWRO) – 50 m³/day

SWRO seawater desalination plant producing 50 m³/day of potable water for large coastal resorts and industrial sites in Oman. Energy recovery device option, PLC control. UV Water Systems, Muscat.

Description

008 | UV Water Systems Oman

A 50 m³/day SWRO plant (~13,200 GPD) supplies a mid-size coastal resort of 50–80 rooms, a substantial private compound, or a fishing harbour with supporting facilities. UV Water Systems Muscat designs these as fully containerisable or skid-mounted systems, deployable at any point along Oman’s coast from Musandam to Salalah.

Why This Matters for Oman Water Quality

At 50 m³/day, the energy cost of seawater desalination becomes significant. SWRO requires 4–6 kWh per m³ without energy recovery, vs 2.5–3.5 kWh/m³ with a pressure exchanger. UV Water Systems offers energy recovery device (ERD) integration on all 50 m³/day+ SWRO systems — recovering hydraulic energy from the high-pressure reject and recycling it to boost incoming feed pressure. Over a year, this can reduce electricity consumption by 40–50%, saving OMR 3,000–6,000 annually.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to the brine reject at this scale? At 50 m³/day production (45% recovery), approximately 60 m³/day of concentrated brine is rejected. For coastal sites UV Water Systems designs a seawater return outfall. Inland sites require a lined evaporation pond. We advise on the most appropriate disposal method for your specific location in Oman.

Do you provide SWRO operation and maintenance training? Yes — SWRO requires more skilled operation than BWRO due to higher pressures. UV Water Systems provides hands-on operator training and AMC contracts covering quarterly checks, membrane performance testing, and scheduled maintenance. Call +968 9763 7786.

Do you deliver and install across Oman? Yes — UV Water Systems covers all Muscat governorate areas and ships products and spare parts to all wilayats in Oman. Call +968 9763 7786 or email sales@waterfilteroman.com.
