The FilmTec SW30HRLE-400 Membrane is a high rejection, low energy 8-inch seawater reverse osmosis element from DuPont. It produces high quality permeate at lower feed pressure than standard seawater elements, which cuts the power bill of the high pressure pump.
Energy is the biggest running cost of any desalination plant in Oman. Replacing older elements with this low energy model can reduce feed pressure by several bar while keeping permeate TDS within drinking water limits, especially on warm feed water.
