This a replacement part for a standard residential Reverse Osmosis (RO) System. The ASOV (Auto Shut Off Valve) is a key component used in standard Reverse Osmosis (RO) based Point-Of-Use (POU) drinking water treatment systems. The Auto Shut Off Valve is designed to shut off at 65% of supply line pressure. This means that when the tank pressure reaches approximately 65% of the incoming line pressure, the ASO Valve will shut off production. The Auto Shut Off Valve saves as much as 15,000 Gallons of water per year by shutting off the water once your tank is full. The ASO Valve is manufactured with NSF listed materials. The ASOV utilizes a diaphragm between the feed water and treated water to control the flow of feed water into the treatment system. The Automatic Shut-Off Valve has been tested and certified by NSF International under NSF/ANSI Standard 58. In addition to these certification requirements, the ASOV undergoes 100% leak testing at 150 psi as part of the manufacturing quality control standards. All tube connections are 1/4-Inch with 'In' and 'Out' labeled on the top. The Auto Shut Off Valve comes with four easy to use 1/4-Inch Quick Connect fittings. Designed for use in residential reverse osmosis systems to restrict the flow on the drain (reject) line, keeping the membrane pressurized
and controlling the recovery ratio of the system. The flow restrictor must be properly sized according to the flow of the RO membrane system.
It is recommended that the flow restrictor is replaced each time an RO membrane is replaced in order to keep your system working at optimum performance, as scale build up can occur and clog the capillaries. Additionally, if changing to a different flow-rate membrane element, the flow restrictor must be changed to the appropriate size as well.
Available in several styles including encapsulated capillaries (in both quick connect and male threaded end connections) and inserts for use in fittings. Encapsulated capillary style flow restrictors should be installed in the membrane reject line between the housing outlet and the drain. Insert style flow restrictors should be inserted in the fitting between the membrane housing reject outlet and the tubing that leads to the drain.

Typically installed on the product water tube of the RO membrane or the permeate outlet port of the membrane housing, check valves prevent back flow to the membrane. When back pressure is present in the permeate line (such as occurs when a tank is full), the spring-operated valve is engaged and stops the flow of water. Flow is not resumed until back pressure drops to below the feed pressure.

float valves serve as level controls to automatically stop the stream of water into the tank or reservoir when the water level reaches a specified level. When the water level reaches the float, the buoyancy of the float elevates the arm, bringing the valve into the closed position. When used in conjunction with a diaphragm style automatic shut-off valve (sold separately), the back pressure created by closing the tank valve will trigger the diaphragm shut-off valve to turn off the water feed to the system. When water is used and the level drops, valve will open, disengaging the shut off valve, allowing feed water to the RO system to resume until the tank is refilled.
